Tabs let a user open several web pages in their browser window and then switch between those web pages. With the Tabs API, you can work with and manipulate these tabs to create utilities that provide users with new ways to work with tabs or to deliver the features of your extension.
You know that feeling of walking into a room and forgetting why you went there, then you leave and suddenly remember? That happens online, too! The new Firefox mobile experience is here to help. Whenever you open the Firefox mobile app, all your open tabs are intuitively grouped and displayed along with your most recent saves (bookmarks and reading list), searches and favorite sites. Even if you get distracted, Firefox gets you back on track so you can pick right up where you left off.

This isn't just a "power-user" request, it's an essential accessibility feature for people with impaired mobility or who can't use a mouse, users which would happily switch to firefox if it were available. Many of the default shortcuts require awkward hand placement which some of us simply aren't capable of. Relegating the need to modify these defaults to shoddy extension hacks which frequently break or stop working when other parts of firefox's UI gain focus is not really a solution, despite Mozilla's own help pages implying it is.
Firefox ships with the Twemoji Mozilla font. To use the system emoji font, set font.name-list.emoji to emoji in about:config. Additionally, to prevent the Mozilla font interfering with your system emoji font, change gfx.font_rendering.opentype_svg.enabled to false or remove /usr/lib/firefox/fonts/TwemojiMozilla.ttf (see also pacman#Skip files from being installed to system).
Firefox provides a local service for Chinese users, with a local account totally different from the international one. Firefox installed with the firefox package uses the international account system by default, to change into the Chinese local service, you should install the add-on manager on this page, then you can login with your Chinese account now.
Popular Chrome extension Imagus was recently ported to Firefox. This extension lets you hover over any thumbnail to see a large-sized preview of the image without opening it in a new tab. Imagus is quicker and lighter than some of the older add-ons to preview images in Firefox.
Firefox has no shortage of add-ons to manage your tabs and there's even a built-in group manager, but Tab Groups Helper is a little different. Its purpose is to make lists based on your currently opened tabs. Choose a list and Tab Groups will hide the other tabs, eliminating distractions. And you can quickly switch between lists with the keyboard shortcut Alt+[number].
You open a YouTube video in a new tab, continue browsing your current tab, and suddenly you hear it autoplaying in the background. Annoying! Teach Firefox some manners with Open Link In Silent Tab, which makes the browser pause loading new pages until you switch to that tab.
One of the best ways to keep Firefox from getting unbearably slow is to kill tabs you aren't using. But that means you will lose those tabs, which might not be what you want. Instead, use Tab Grenade to kill those tabs, but at the same time turn them into a list. The list has all your tabs, ready to be opened, and you can go about using Firefox without it being sluggish.
The new version of Google Chrome comes with a handy Profile Switcher button to quickly change between different profiles. Firefox also lets you use multiple profiles, but switching is a pain. Profilist creates a simple option in the main menu where you can switch with a click.
PowerToys is a rapid-incubation, open source team aimed at providing power users ways to squeeze more efficiency out of the Windows shell and customize it for individual workflows. Work priorities will consistently be examined, reassessed, and adjusted with the aim of improving our users productivity.
Firefox is a fast and open source browser, which means users can customize their browsing experience in every way possible. Firefox also allows the casual user several different ways to customize the UI with applying different themes and toolbar configurations. Since our browser has always been open source, we have a large following of devoted developers who have created an extensive library of add-ons and browser extensions.
Firefox has been available on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux for years. And as you would expect with any modern browser, Firefox lets you log in with a free account and sync data such as passwords, browsing history, bookmarks, and open tabs between your computer, tablet and phone. It also allows you to sync across platforms as well.
Linky also works on selections (parts of pages). Simply highlight the section of the page that has the links you want, by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the mouse down the page, let go, right-click, then position the mouse cursor over "Linky", which will drop down Linky's menu, then click on "open selected links in tabs". A box will appear with the list of links with a checkbox next to each link which you can uncheck in the case that there are pages on the list that you don't want to work on.
Well, after you have the desired web-pages displayed in tabs, you can use Firefox's tabbing commands to switch between them very rapidly, close them instantaneously (which also switches you to the next tab in the blink of an eye), etc.
"Tabbing" is task-switching technology. You are basically working in windows, directly on Wikipedia pages using Wikipedia's interface. So if you need to inspect pages (that is, actually look at them), you simply open their links in Linky and each page is in display mode by default. You switch between pages (in subwindows called "tabs") with Ctrl-tab or with Ctlr-w (which closes the current window as you make the switch). Once in tabs, you can switch back and forth between pages very rapidly. In AWB, once you've processed a page, you can't go back to it. But in Firefox you can, even if you've already closed the tab! All Linky does is load pages into Firefox tabs, allowing you to bring the power of Firefox to up to 99 pages at a time. Subtle, but very effective.
tmux is an open source application that adds layers (or "windows," in tmux terminology) to your terminal window so that you can open more than one terminal in a single desktop window. The result is a tabbed interface (without the physical tabs), so you can flip from one open terminal to another without having to use the mouse the way you have to when switching from one tab in Firefox to another.
LanguageTool is an open-source grammar and spellchecker that respects your privacy, making it a decent alternative to the likes of Grammarly and others. It is free to use, with an optional premium upgrade for advanced correction features.
It should be good enough for basic spellcheck and common grammatical mistakes. As I write this, I have LanguageTool Firefox extension active. Not just a privacy-focused, open-source alternative, it works super quickly without impacting your writing experience.
The server-side is open-source but unfortunately, the add-on is not open-source. They clarified the reason as they do not want competitors to use the add-on and contribute nothing in return (more in their forum post).
How can I switch between opened windows in Eclipse? There is Ctrl+F6, but it's asking me which one I want, but I want switch it like tabs in browser or window in operating system (Cmd/Win+Tab) without file-selection from the list. How to do this easy thing in Eclipse?
If you want to simply switch between your current and your previous tab selections, using CTRL + F6 will switch you back and forth. To navigate to a tab further back in your history, you need to use the UP / DOWN keys while the Editors window is open. This works with Helios (Eclipse 3.6); not sure if this is true for older versions of Eclipse.
I must have previously set Ctrl+Tab to Browser-like tab switching, and even resetting all key bindings in Eclipse preferences wouldn't get rid of the shortcuts (they were not displayed anywhere either). I opened the above mentioned file and removed the elements marked with type:user related to the non-functioning shortcuts.
Versions of Eclipse up to 2022-03 used to have CTRL + Tab switch between editors in an LRU order, same as CTRL + E - I believe it was the same functionality. Starting with the 2022 versions, this was no longer the case with CTRL + Tab instead using to move to a different pane (i.e. move from the editor to the bottom pane, or from the bottom pane to the one of the side bars).
For all of the bars, you can track which media queries they contain when hovering over them. You can jump to a specific media query range and inspect layout issues in detail with Styles panel open. By clicking on any position on a bar, you can trigger specific breakpoints, and if you right click on a bar, you can reveal its position in the source code. In fact, you can quickly jump back and forth between media queries, rather than resizing the screen manually and checking the screen width over and and over again.
After the reset, Chrome will relaunch with all extensions disabled. Revisit the Extensions Manager to re-activate any extensions you want to use again. If you couldn't delete a browser add-on previously, you shouldn't have any problems doing that now. Also, visit Chrome's Settings pane (open the Chrome menu and select Settings) to reconfigure your browsing preferences. 2ff7e9595c
